FiCare on the unit
Family Integrated Care on the Neonatal Unit
Parent education sessions
Parent education is integral to FiCare, equipping families with the knowledge and skills needed to care for their premature or unwell newborn. Group education sessions facilitate learning from both educators and fellow parents, providing a supportive environment to share experiences, challenges, and insights during their hospital stay. This collaborative learning fosters stronger parent-child relationships and promotes a smoother transition to home care.
Feedback from parents who have attended:
‘We want to make sure our baby is developing how she should, so any additional information we can learn and take from the session is very important to us.’
‘Gives us a chance to learn about important aspects of caring for our new baby and ask any questions.’
‘Interesting to learn things that we might not otherwise know. Also important to understand how babies develop differently when they’re born and spend time in the Neo natal unit’
