We wanted to share this wonderful fundraising story sent to us by Rachel, Lilly and Freya’s mum.

“Lily and Freya Fulljames-Gannon spent about 6 weeks at the Kingston SCBU back in Feb/March 2015. They had been born 10 weeks early by crash c/s on 2nd Feb at St Mary’s Hospital then transferred to your care just under a week later. They (and we!) were looked after so well by your team and they still have and cherish the beautiful knitted blankets that they were given by the volunteers.

They are now absolutely thriving in and out of school. They are doing very well academically, they both represent their school in swim squad and have lots of lovely friends. They are all round good eggs! We appreciate just how lucky we were and it’s in no small part to the special care they received in those difficult first weeks from yourselves.

It is for this reason that we chose Born Too Soon as one of the 3 charities we raised money for this May half term at the Edinburgh Running Festival. My husband ran his first (and I suspect last!) marathon, I ran a 10k, our son George (11yo) ran a 5k and Lily and Freya (9yo) ran the 2k (well Freya actually came down with a vomiting bug but the intention was there!) We all got PBs despite it being hilly!

We raised over £18k so you should have received just over £6k from us recently via GiftWheel
